How accurate is Zillow in pricing your Phoenix or Scottsdale home?

With so much information out on the internet regarding Scottsdale and Phoenix homes for sale and home values, we hear from many of our seller clients or potential seller clients, “this is what Zillow says my home is worth”.  We don’t think that online valuations are all bad or invalid, but it is important to see how accurate their numbers are before coming to any conclusions.

So how accurate is Zillow in Phoenix and Scottsdale? According to their own data 86% of the time they are within 20% of the sales price. We don’t know about you, but that doesn’t seem very accurate!  We will oftentimes share how accurate Zillow is in Scottsdale with seller clients and they are shocked by the numbers. Again, Zillow can be a great starting point, but it is not the end-all-be-all to real estate pricing, especially for Scottsdale and Phoenix homes. They have a large space online for this, but to find the real number for your home, it is imperative that you speak to a professional in that area.
